Mysore Palace built in Indo-Saracenic style shows both Hindu & Muslim influences and was the former residence of the Wodeyar family, the Maharajas of Mysore.
Lalitha Mahal Palace at the foot of Chamundi Hills was used to accommodate royal guests and has now been converted into a prestigious hotel.
Jagan Mohan Palace , now an art gallery boasting of an excellent collection of paintings by Raja Ravi Varma and Svetoslav Roerich, besides traditional Mysore gold leaf paintings and other articles.
